What is High-Level Physical Surveillance? It is a surveillance service that uses lawful high-tech equipment and Tier-1 level surveillance-investigators; and designed to provide highly effective, reliable and lawful physical-mobile surveillance for high-stakes cases ⎯ where surveillance failure can result in significant evidentiary and information losses and/or unnecessary safety issues to a person or persons.
Physical Surveillance is a specialty. That is why the FBI, CIA and other same type agencies have units whose personnel are dedicated to only conducting physical surveillance. For example, the Special Surveillance Group (SSG) of the FBI is their full-time dedicated physical surveillance unit consisting of practitioners that perform physical surveillance as a full-time job.
Why so many failures in physical surveillance? Private sector physical surveillance is the most misunderstood investigative discipline and most difficult to perform successfully on a consistent basis, hence the high failure rate. Nearly all assignment fails are due to a selection person choosing an unqualified physical surveillance vendor. Poor decisions in selecting a qualified vendor for physical surveillance can significantly impact an organization negatively. The negative impact may be related to reduced safety for employees during a threat of workplace violence, missed opportunities on game changing evidence in a lawsuit and/or exposure to unnecessary lawsuits due to the physical surveillance vendor's unprofessional actions.
